《阿凡達》影星鼓勵學生作環保吃素救地球的英雄

         獲選奧斯卡影展且頗富環保寓意的電影《阿凡達》的加拿大導演詹姆士柯麥隆，最近在加州洛杉磯發起「阿凡達家樹倡議」，期望二O一O年在世界各國種植一百萬棵當地的原生樹木。

In Los Angeles, California, USA, Canadian director James Cameron of“Avatar,” the Oscar-winning film with an environmental message,recently announced the launch of the Avatar Home Tree Initiative, whichseeks in 2010 to plant a million native trees in countries around theworld.

  支持他的包括主演《阿凡達》的影星蜜雪兒•羅莉葛茲、喬凡尼•雷比西、喬摩爾及其他倡議環保的名流，如四度榮獲美國職業籃球賽冠軍的約翰•沙里及國際溝通專家理查•葛林。

Joining him in support were cast members of “Avatar” including MichelleRodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, and Joel Moore, as well as othereco-advocate celebrities such as 4-time US National BasketballAssociation champion John Salley and international communication coachRichard Greene.

              葛林等多位著名的人士，一同為洛杉磯地區六千名學生發表演說，他們都是前來參與因《阿凡達》的啟迪而發起的環保戰士訓練計畫，學習個人幫助拯救地球的方法。

Many of these renowned personalities also gave inspirational speechesto the 6,000 Los Angeles area students who attended an“Avatar”-inspired Eco Warrior Training program to learn about ways thateveryone can help save the planet.

think the important thing about “Avatar” is it takes place on anotherplanet, and it’s a fantasy, but we’re doing that to our planet rightnow, for real.

But today, you saved ananimal’s life.

John Salley – 4-time US National Basketball Association champion,Vegan (M): If it’s off a tree, out of the ground, you should eat it. Ifit has a heartbeat, or had a heartbeat or mother, I think you shouldlet it go to its mama. About two years ago, I decided not to eatanything from an animal. No, milk, no cheese, no eggs. And I lost 40pounds. I decided, from that point on, I was going to do everythingpossible, to make sure my avatar looked as beautiful as the Creatorwanted it to look. Think about this: this is the only body you have.The most important thing you do, is nourish your organs and nourishyour body.
