Personal Statement
Perhaps the most important influence that has shaped the person I am today is moving around the world. My dad worked for TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council), and had been sent abroad to many countries for assisting foreign firms in selecting appropriate Taiwan manufacturers, local industry investigation, encouraging interaction with other business communities.
In 1988, when I was in 1st grade, I left Taiwan and went to Kuwait with my family. It appeared that I would live there for a while, but Iraq invaded Kuwait one and half year later, we were evacuated and forced to come back. 7 years later, when I was in 10th grade, my dad was once again sent to Mexico City by TAITRA. This time I successfully completed my high school there and was later got accepted into Arizona State University in the United State for both my Bachelor and Master degree.
I felt these experiences have built my world view and let me learned how to adjust to a new environment quickly to shorten the transitional time, which led me become a quick learner. This has also affected my professional area in programming. I have the confidence that I might not be the best programmer, but I surely am a quick learner and self-motivated person.
As far as long-term plans, I hope to obtain a creative and challenging position as a Web Developer /Designer that enables me to gain valuable commercial experience and offers opportunity for continued growth in Web development and design skills.
